Ecstatic Dance

ECSTATIC DANCE is a free-form movement where dance expands, the spirit becomes active, limitations dissolve, annoyance disappear, creativity explodes, beauty flows, communities get together, a ritual is reinvented, harmony arises. The beat intensifies as a carpet of rhythms and unites us as individuals within a large family.

During the session, we will create a safe place where we can intensify the dance followed by the liberation process of suppressed emotions, allowing natural joy to come to surface. By letting ourselves go with the therapeutic power of dance and music we can better experience what we need at the present moment. Be prepared to have intense emotions! Let us connect with each other, start with a warm-up exercise and proceed to emotionally free dance and movement, guided by consciously and specifically selected music.

Dance Guidelines

Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
