Everything in the dance is always connected.
The DJ is connected to the moment.
Songs are connected to each other in a continuous flow.
The dancer is connected to the music and the dance floor.
The dancers are connected to each other, in community.
The music I play spans many genres, countries and feels, and even if you recognise a tune – the way you hear it in my journey will be different to the way you had previously heard it. Someone once said, ‘other DJ’s have me dancing in the past, or the present – you have me dancing in the future’.
My sets are like a carnival ride. To feel all of the twists and turns you have to be fully present in the moment. You will be pushed and pulled – physically and emotionally – held, loved and set free. And you will find yourself, again and again.
Bio
Global Harmonizer has been producing music for 25 years, and DJing as an Ecstatic Dance DJ for 6 years. He moved to Ubud, Bali to study and practise Sound Healing, and discovered a passion and love for Ecstatic Dance, and by chance became a DJ at the popular Yoga Barn. Since then he has Dj’d hundreds of dances in USA, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.
For the last 2.5 years he has hosted a weekly Ecstatic Dance in his hometown, endeavouring to create unique, no repeats dance sets every time. This has hugely expanded his tastes in music, his musical library and his capacity to put together incredible journey’s which always incorporate his local dancers favourite genres of music. The God-father [name given to the oldest, most regular dancer] of his dance, has a saying after every dance: ‘best one yet!’
A woman from Peru once told him that he is the only ‘shaman DJ’ she has experienced. Another regular dancer often becomes entranced, and believes that ‘voodoo’ happens when the music is flowing.
