My MUsic

I love moving through varying poles of energy – masculine, feminine, light, dark. I love the release that comes from the shadow, releasing energy that is held within.  Styles include world, bass, trap, house, soul, and R&B.

Bio

Longer bio:

Cay Love’s musical journeys explore polarizing energies and everything in between, honoring masculine and feminine, light and dark. As a performer and founder of the the black light illusion dance group Fighting Gravity in 2010, Cay Love kicked off a journey of theatrical creation, movement, and DJing.

Cay Love grew up in Utah and rural Virginia and in her teens and early 20’s experienced fear surrounding her shift in gender identity and sexuality. She would have never guessed that unearthing her gender expression would open up a vast new world of connection and freedom. A few years into this journey Cay Love was introduced to Ecstatic Dance, falling in love with the practice of embodied movement, the community it cultivates, and the newfound self love and confidence that came with it.

Cay Love’s music creates opportunity to confront and play with shadow, enabling what lies deep within to energize and flow through the body. From hair raising vocals to dirty bass-lines her sets consist of bass, trap, world, house, soul, and R&B infused with tribal and psychedelic undertones. As a dancer, Cay Love’s selections are designed to activate various parts of the body and inspire new and funky ways to wiggle.
