Women's Ecstatic Dance
Women’s Ecstatic Dance | Tuesdays 7:30pm – 9pm | JaiStar Dance Studio
This class is for women who wish to heal through ecstatic dance and sisterhood.
Experience Ecstatic Dance as a healing modality and receive the support of sacred space and light guidance from certified and experienced facilitators.
Somatic Embodiment is at the core of our practice. This means instead of thinking about how to move your body, allow yourself to come from a place of feeling: Tapping Into Your Intuition.
Receive Chakra Activations which are vocalization practices that open our energy centers. Awaken the Seven Chakras (Root, Sacral, Solar, Heart, Throat, 3rd Eye & Crown).
Our Music is a world-beat journey that will guide you out of your head and down into your body. Each facilitator will create a musical journey that will support your dance journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this 90minute practice you can arrive on-time and draw Oracle Cards that will give you messages. Set an Intention. Then begin with a warm-up: We have yoga mats for your free-form floor warm up.
As the music picks up, you will naturally begin to move with the beat of the music. You will receive light guidance as the facilitator holds space for everyone to feel safe to dance and move freely.
The practice ends with a slow flow cool down, where you can once again find a yoga mat or blanket as you naturally become meditative.
Our facilitators are certified Ecstatic Dance Teachers who will be holding a safe and sacred space for you to come unwind the psyche as you move and dance.

Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
