Ecstatic Dance

Join Sequim Ecstatic Dance for a special Nighttime event with Guest DJ Dusty Walker from Vashon and Sound Healer Tarek.
Ecstatic Dance is Free-Form Conscious Dance, allowing you to Be and Move as You Wish. As soon as you enter the space, you are invited to let go of judgements and expectations, and allow yourself to feel your emotions, sensations, body, mind, and spirit. All freedom of expression is welcomed, and there is no ‘right and wrong’ here. Trust in the journey and move through everything that arises.
DJ Dusty Walker is a dancer first and DJ second. Everything they do as a DJ is for the dancers and the vibrancy of the dancefloor. They honed their craft DJ’ing for almost 20 years in New York City, from Queer Warehouse parties that went till dawn to culturally rich Bed Stuy block parties. Their music has always been varied, from all corners of the globe and history. But ultimately each song in their set is selected with the intention to make people move. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, they have fully immersed themselves in the world of conscious dance, as it is a rich and natural place for them to create dancefloor journeys of spiritual joy and healing. www.djdustywalker.com
Tarek has been offering sound baths for the last decade! These days Music keeps him traveling, inside and out of the country. Didgeridoo, guitar, singing, drums, handpan, singing bowls, drums, flutes and more, are all guides to pull you deeper into your consciousness. To open up doorways of inspiration, healing and connection.

Dance Guidelines

Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
