Come join us every 2nd Sunday from 3-5pm. All ages welcome, $10 cash per headset.

The weather is warm, the days are long, and we are once again dancing in the park. We bring out the silent disco headphones weekly for our community to get down, have a good time, and hang out together in a relaxed, drug and alcohol free environment.

Bring a blanket, picnic, dogs, kids, hoops, slack line, or whatever else ya like that promotes expression and connection with care and respect.

NOTE: you must pay in cash, no credit card, venmo, etc.

Be yourself, accept others. Respect the space and everyone in it. Yes to embodiment, creativity, and community! Please keep the dances drug/alcohol free and conversation out of the dance space!

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a freeform movement space. Move however you wish. And you are always at choice about whether you want to dance solo or with other people.

​You can expect a two-hour, DJ’d musical “journey” from Daniel Mollner or one of our guest DJs. Music for the first 10-15 minutes is ambient and downtempo for you to arrive, warm up, and stretch as you like. The tempo begins to build gradually from there reaching a peak or catharsis in the second half of the dance. Afterwards the music comes down, softening and slowing towards the end for relaxation and rest as we conclude the dance. Listen to a sample journey HERE.

It is VERY important to this community that dances feel reasonably safe and welcoming for ALL people…especially those who’ve been marginalized (LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, body type, neurodiverse, seniors). We ask everyone who comes to help us to continue making it so. We also ask for the willingness of traditionally marginalized people to come and dance with us as we learn and grow in this way.

We also dance indoors twice a week on Wednesdays 7-9pm and Saturdays 10am to Noon at London Nelson Community Center near downtown Santa Cruz (301 Center St.) Look up “Soularus” on this website for more info or go to www.DanielMollner.com

Driving Directions and Parking:We are dancing at Ocean View Park in the heart of Santa Cruz overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the San Lorenzo River, and the historic Boardwalk. Park anywhere on the street above or below the park. The park is adjacent to the river bike path for wheeled and pedestrian access from downtown and the transit center.
