Ecstatic Dance
STL Ecstatic Dance and Movement is committed to continuing the tradition of Ecstatic Dance as a substance-free safe space for all to experience the joy of dance and movement that adds aliveness to both your body and the body of the community you’re dancing in and with.
PLEASE NOTE: We also offer other dance experiences from other traditions including: UNchurch Dance: Community Movement for Deconstructing Bodies & Minds, Authentic Movement, and various group workshops/series as requested by the community.
Please note that anyone who violates the guidelines will be coached on the first occasion and uninvited on the second to preserve this as an open, authentic, safe space for everyone. Beginners are welcome and highly encouraged to self-educate via this website and online resources for what to expect at the dances.
The attendance fee helps everyone commit to which dances they choose to RSVP to as well as covering rental, admin, and facilitation costs.
PLEASE check the Meetup App for the current week’s info. This will get you the most updated information; especially regarding any rescheduling for inclement road conditions. Attendance for all dances closes 48 hours in advance of the event to secure spaces. Please sign up for the next week if you are after the current week’s ‘closed’ time. We are “STL Ecstatic Dance and Movement” group in Saint Louis, MO on the Meetup App.
Thank you so much for thinking about joining us!
We can’t wait to move with you.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
