Knoxville Movement Collective hosts a dance wave one Saturday of each month in South Knoxville. There are several volunteers that take turns curating the playlist.
On March 8 all of our female mix-makers are collaborating on a playlist celebrating International Women’s Day! The women’s collaborative flow will highlight aspects rooted in female energy. Rise Up as the divine woman you are — or Raise Up the divine women you adore — either way allow yourself to explore and dance in celebration of sacred feminine power.
We are a volunteer run organization and our sliding scale helps us cover our venue fees.
Doors open for dance 7 pm
Opening circle at 7:20 pm
The wave is usually about 75 minutes
We gather for closing circle afterwards
Driving Directions and Parking:You can park anywhere around the entire building, but please enter through the front doors (street side) next to the jewelry shop. As you enter please be aware that this location has two "shop cats" that reside full time in the space and can sometimes be curious about what might be on the other side of the opening door.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
