A trailblazer in the Ecstatic Dance movement, Soul Salaam played a vital role in opening Ecstatic Dance Oakland as one of its first Dj’s and has performed alongside renowned artists. Ecstatic Dance Unity embraces three simple, yet profound guidelines to foster deeper connections and transcendent experiences.
1. We dance barefoot, allowing our souls to merge with the earth.
2. We dance without words, communicating through the universal language of movement.
3. We dance as we are, embracing our authentic selves in a judgment-free space.
We commence the evening with a sublime sound healing session, orchestrated by The Church of Sacred Sound. This harmonious beginning attunes our hearts and minds to the cosmic vibrations permeating the event.
Throughout the night, indulge in divine refreshments such as sacred cacao elixirs, herbal tonics, and nourishing organic food and snacks. Local live painting artists will weave their creative magic, crafting an immersive tapestry of visual delights as we dance the night away.
Explore the enchanting offerings of local vendors, and immerse yourself in the healing sanctuary of our dedicated tea service room, where you can experience transformative modalities like massage therapy. This sacred gathering is a celebration of the potent synergy between sacred geometry, consciousness, and our collective empowerment.

1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another

Hailing from the Bay Area, Soulsalaam has been a resident DJ at the pioneering Ecstatic Dance event held at Sweet’s Ballroom in Oakland, California, since its inception. His exhilarating beats have captivated audiences from the Bay Area to South America, Burning Man, and beyond.
With an exceptional ability to blend analog and digital, organic and synthetic elements, Soulsalaam’s performances are both emotionally charged and invigorating, ensuring an unforgettable experience for the spiritually inclined audience. His diverse musical repertoire and distinctive approach weave a seamless, mystical journey for both body and soul, spanning genres such as Meditation Bass, EDM, House, Tropical, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Dubstep, and Global Bass.
