Ecstatic Dance
We have been dancing together for over a year now, and are inviting in new growth.
We are trying to keep a regular schedule of every other Sunday, but sometimes our dates & times change… so BE ADVISED. You can in fact:
Join our WhatsApp group (where we confirm our dance times) with THIS link.
We are loving our NEW Dance space in Assisi–it’s gorgeous, please come find us!
Next dance is Sunday afternoon, May 3rd. Save the date!
We have dedicated ourselves to creating a bimonthly 3 hour dance (including time for a lead-in introduction and live music to finish, usually).
As of now, we are dancing on Sunday evenings, 16:30-19:30, often followed by a dinner (where a reservation is required). We want to attract lovers of Ecstatic Dance, who don’t come just for the social scene or to share food, but to truly come and groove! (Even if we also love our homegrown, local, organic dinner-feasts!).
We are currently located in a magical, historic venue in the heart of Assisi. Our Dj (Ecstatic Bear) has met Ecstatic Dance co-founder Donna Carroll in Oakland, California, and participated in ecstatic dance festivals in Greece and other parts of Europe. Now we have the honor of bringing this medicine into Umbria–the green heart of Italy!
The international town of Assisi, “the City of Peace”, with its 5 million annual visitors, is proud to host the global community of Ecstatic Dancers.
Please come and help us grow this incredible community where we believe music and movement is medicine.

Otherwise, if you come from the backside, behind Assisi, the best (and free!) parking lot is above the Basilica nearby Assisi's cemetary, linked here and before this little bar/cafe:

Once entering the bjuiliding you'll see an antique automobile and you will need to head up the stairs to the left.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance Barefoot
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are ok)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then ok
2. We Dance without words
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Cameras/Video, No Scents, No Food or drink in the dance hall (besides water), No Expectations, No Judgements, No Woulda-Shoulda-Coulda’s… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space (please be careful of our antique paintings!), and One Another.
