Ecstatic Dance
We have been dancing together for over a year now, and are inviting in new growth.
Our dance days & times vary, so please write to us before showing up! Or
Join our WhatsApp group (where we specify our monthly dates) with THIS link.
We are also soon INAUGURATING our NEW Dance space in Assisi.
This will happen March 21st. Save the date!
We have dedicated ourselves to creating a weekly two hour dance.
As of now, we have been dancing on Friday and Saturdays, although the day and time is still fluid and changing, so we are open to your feedback. Our idea is to do two evening dances and two daytime dances. We want to attract lovers of Ecstatic Dance, who don’t come just for the social scene or to share food, but to truly come and groove!
We are located a half hour beyond the center of Assisi: eventually coming to a magical, historic venue in the heart of Assisi. Our Dj (Ecstatic Bear) has met Ecstatic Dance co-founder Donna Carroll in Oakland, California, and participated in ecstatic dance festivals in Greece and other parts of Europe. Now we have the honor of bringing this medicine into Umbria–the green heart of Italy!
The international town of Assisi, “the City of Peace”, with its 5 million annual visitors, is proud to host the global community of Ecstatic Dancers.
Please come and help us grow this incredible community where we believe music and movement is medicine.
The dance is located on the upper floor. In the summertime we host dances that are also outside in our home Olive Grove (which are very special). Parking is abundant around the house and even on the main road.
It's a bit dark around the house, so bringing a phone flashlight to walk down from the parking lot can be helpful.
Our "dance hall" is a converted living room. It's heated and can comfortably accommodate 10-15 dancers. We often organize a small reception after the event, where everyone brings something to share, but this is obviously optional.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance Barefoot
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are ok)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then ok
2. We Dance without words
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Cameras/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Woulda-Shoulda-Coulda’s… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
