Ecstatic Dance

Awaken Your Inner Rhythm and Journey Through Movement

What is ecstatic dance?

  • Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement journey, held in a safe and sacred space, facilitated live by a professional DJ. A place where we can be our unique selves, but also connect to a common source.
  • Join a diverse and welcoming community of like-minded individuals who are on a quest for personal growth, self-discovery, and connection.

Event schedule:

  • Doors open at 6:15pm and will close at 6:30pm. No late entry.
  • Ceremony starts promptly at 6:30pm with a quick introduction and opening meditation
  • End 8:00pm-ish

What can I expect?

  • All are welcome in this non-judgement atmosphere. This is a safe space for expression through movement. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or a novice, everyone is welcome to move freely.
  • This is a fun and uplifting experience. Abandon yourself to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes you.
  • There is no right or wrong way to move, you will find your intuitive movement. You can also choose not to move.
  • We prioritize a safe and respectful environment. All participants are expected to respect personal boundaries.
  • This is a very personal experience. Everyone’s journey is unique and their own,  yet there is power and support in this communal experience.
  • As the music evolves, so does your experience. Dance your way through a spectrum of emotions – from blissful euphoria to deep introspection. It’s a journey of self-discovery and healing.
  • We will be moving our bodies but you can also move emotions. This can be a very powerful and transformative experience.
  • Dress comfortable and ready to move.
  • Bring: Water, Yoga mat (optional), earplugs (if needed)

Dance Guidelines

  • Be respectful of everyone in the space. Free expression is encouraged but not to the disruption of anyone else’s experience.
  • No vices / devices / distractions – phones or other devices will be turned off and left off the dancefloor. This is the best way to not disrupt anyone’s experience. Especially yours. Take this opportunity to be present.
  • No talking during the ceremony – we don’t want to disrupt anyones experience and this allows you to be present with the music and your movement.
  • No photos or video recording – this is a very personal experience and we want to ensure everyone feels comfortable expressing their movement, not wondering if they are being filmed.
  • No shoes on the dancefloor – we want to experience movement with our connection to Earth.
  • No large props (hula hoops, poi balls, devil sticks, etc.) – space may not allow and this can be disruptive for others. Take this opportunity to be in touch with your body and move naturally with the music.
  • No judgment – this is a safe space for expression through movement.
