Ecstatic Dance
We at Conscious Sounds are excited to be back with another ecstatic dance so as spring approaches and the days are brightening let’s warm our hearts, soul and body through non verbal, barefoot dance in a safe and inclusive space.
Join us on Sunday 23rd February at wye Village Hall TN25 5EA for an evening of free-spirited dancing and connection. Let go of your inhibitions and let the music guide you as you dance away the darkness of winter. No experience necessary, just come as you are and dance like nobody is watching.
As we understand the timing may interfere with dinner and it proved very popular last time we would, one again, like to offer our dancers a hot meal after the dance before you head home. This will be a simple vegan, gluten free, nut free bowl of something warm and nourishing.
Doors open at 1645 to begin at 1715
We look forward to seeing you there!
This is a cash only event, £10 payable on arrival. Please reserve your spotEcstatic dance offers numerous health benefits, both physical and emotional. It promotes cardiovascular fitness by encouraging movement that increases heart rate, while also improving flexibility, coordination, and muscle strength.
The freeform nature of the practice helps reduce stress and anxiety, as it allows for emotional release and enhances mental clarity. By fostering mindfulness and body awareness, ecstatic dance can also improve mood, boost self-esteem, and promote a sense of connection with oneself and others.
Overall, it provides a holistic approach to wellness, integrating mind, body, and spirit.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
