Ecstatic Dance
During the Fall season, Knoxville Movement Collective has been invited to host an outdoor dance at Buckeye Farm. We dance in an open field and then gather in the outdoor kitchen afterwards for a potluck. Sometimes, when our host feels up to it, guests are treated to a sound bath at the end of the evening.
We will have a fire in the fire pit at the center of our November circle.
The next scheduled dates are:
Nov. 4 ~ “Inner Fire” Mix
Folks are welcome to gather and mingle beginning at 5 pm.
Opening circle at 5:30
Dances are apron 75 to 90 minutes
We hold a closing circle for sharing and announcements
As an outdoor event, we recommend picnic type potluck items. There is an outdoor bathroom available. Because this dance is in a wide open field — consider the natural elements as there is no shade. You’re welcome to bring hoops or dance props (no fire). Please bring what you need to stay hydrated! Dance will be held light rain or shine.
This location holds Native American ceremonies and guests are asked to respect the space by not entering the Arbor or Sweat Lodge.

Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance – 3 Simple Guidelines
1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)
This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK)
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK
2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)
This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators
No Talking from the Dancers
3. We Dance as We Are
No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
