Ecstatic Dance SF Bay

is Inspired by the Ecstatic Dance Big Island

(at Kalani Honua) pictured below...

Ecstatic Dance Big Island began on the Dance Floors of Kalani,

Puna, Big Island

by Max Fathom in 2000,

who had learned of Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms

and Conscious Dance through Body Choir in Austin, Texas,

fell in love with electronic music on the Playa...

blended the two... and the rest is history.

Max, E-lizabeth & Community carried the Wild & Ecstatic torch there until 2009.

Kalani now runs a Sunday Morning Dance there called Sun-Dance.

Two Bay Area AcroYoga Instructors

Donna Carroll and Tyler Blank,

both experienced Magic, Evolution, and Community

during their dance journeys at Ecstatic Dance Big Island.

Desiring a taste of this expansive transformational energy and

community dance in the San Francisco Bay Area...

...they found the Historic Sweet's Ballroom in Uptown Oakland,

with it's 1924 original, 8,000 square foot dancefloor, huge windows, overlooking mezzanine, and luckily, it was nearly vacant.

What Kalani's Blue Moon Room, and EMAX was to EDance Big Island, with it's open air tent and hardwood dance floor by the Ocean...

...Sweet's Ballroom is to the Ecstatic Dance East Bay.

and So it Began in the Bay...
